Distributed power generation
with landfill gas
MWM gas engines can be configured for use in power plants fueled with landfill gas.
Maximum efficiency using landfill gas: electric power made from waste
Landfill gas, a gas of the anaerobic and stable methane phase, consists of 35-60 percent methane and 20-45 percent carbon dioxide. The gas composition changes over the years (CH4 content drops). MWM processes the gas, removing organosilicon compounds from the gas. By collecting methane (CH4) from landfills, whose escape to the atmosphere would promote the greenhouse effect, MWM contributes to the conservation of the environment. The greenhouse potential of methane is up to 25 times higher than that of carbon dioxide.
Special components for smooth running
To utilize landfill gas or other gases that have a high CO2 content, MWM uses pistons with a modified compression ratio. In addition, the proven MWM pre-chamber spark plugs provide for high efficiency and long service life.
Professionals for landfill gas
Having completed several hundred international reference projects, we are experts for special requirements in landfill gas installations. Our highly efficient, completely engineered solutions make MWM a strong partner for landfill gases.
